Larry J. Diggs, a man of extraordinary faith and dedication, was born and raised in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, by his remarkable mother, Rosalie.
Pastor Larry serves as the esteemed Pastor of Light of Hope Community Church, for over eleven years. His ministry spans more than two and a half decades, during which he has emerged as an anointed gospel preacher and teacher, possessing a profound gift for accurately dividing the word of truth. Driven by an unwavering passion and fervent zeal for God, Pastor Larry uses his spiritual gifts to inspire, motivate, pray, assist, challenge, and impart the profound teachings of God’s powerful truth, not only to his congregation but also to the wider community and the world.
Beyond his pastoral duties, Pastor Larry is a devoted family man. He has been married to his wife, Shelia, for nearly three decades. Together, they have been blessed with three incredible children: daughter Sierra, son Willie, and daughter Lasaybra. As proud grandparents, they also cherish their three grandsons, Mekhi, Jasiah, and Zyel, who are an absolute delight and a blessing from the Lord.
Before his calling as a pastor, Pastor Larry served with distinction as a Retired Senior Chief Petty Officer in the United States Navy, spanning a remarkable 26 years. During his active duty, he demonstrated exceptional academic prowess by earning a Bachelor’s Degree in Human Development from Hope International University in 2008. His commitment to learning continued, and he further pursued his studies at the University of Southern California, where he obtained a Master of Social Work Degree.
In addition to his academic achievements, Pastor Larry’s professional journey took him to the City of Hemet, where he worked as a Behavioral Health Specialist for over three years. In this capacity, he provided mental health services and counseled individuals struggling with addiction, making a significant positive impact on the lives of those he served.
He serves at the pleasures of the Lord, and he cares about God’s people every day. His motivating Scriptures are Act 6:4, “But we will give ourselves continually to prayer and to the ministry of the word.” Jeremiah 3:15, “And I will give you shepherds according to My heart, who will feed you with knowledge and understanding.” Acts 20:28, “Therefore take heed to yourselves and to all the flock among which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers, to shepherd the church of God which He purchased with His own blood.
