Larry J. Diggs was born and raised in Philadelphia, PA, by an extraordinary woman of God, his mother, Rosalie.

He currently serves as the Pastor of Light of Hope Community Church for more than six years. In addition, he has served in ministry for more than 25 years—an anointed gospel preacher and teacher who rightly divides the word of truth. With passion and zeal for God, he uses his spiritual gifts to inspire, motivate, pray, assist, challenge, and teach others about God’s powerful truth, impacting the community and the world.

Pastor Larry is a family man with his wife Shelia for almost 30 years, and together, God has blessed them with three amazing children: daughter Sierra, son Willie, and daughter Lasaybra. In addition, they are both proud grandparents to an awesome grandson Mekhi, with another one on the way.

Pastor Larry is a Retired Senior Chief Petty Officer after serving 26 years United States Navy. While on active duty, he earned a Bachelor’s Degree in 2008 from Hope International University, studying human development. He completed his studies at the University of Southern California and earned a Master of Social Worker Degree. Lastly, he worked as a Behavioral Health Specialist in the City of Hemet as a mental health provider and an Addiction Counselor for over three years.

He serves at the pleasures of the Lord, and he cares about God’s people every day. His motivating Scriptures are Act 6:4, “But we will give ourselves continually to prayer and to the ministry of the word.” Jeremiah 3:15, “And I will give you shepherds according to My heart, who will feed you with knowledge and understanding.” Acts 20:28, “Therefore take heed to yourselves and to all the flock among which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers, to shepherd the church of God which He purchased with His own blood.”
